Farács

'Farács' is a modular timber construction set.

Inspired by temporary architecture, megastructures, and traditional joinery, I developed a modular construction system based on interlocking joints, where three oak beams form one cross-shaped module, locked with wedge pairs. The repetion of these modules an assembly configuration.

The structure's intended function was to represent the university pavilion at an EXPO, but in its afterlife it was installed in many forms and served in different functions, for example as an open-air exhibition, as a pop-up shop, or a small festival-stage.
